Hey guys! So I have made it almost three full weeks of 5th grade! I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed it! I'm so excited to be focusing only on math, my favorite subject, and getting to know my students. We hit the ground running by learning procedures and expectations while also working on our fluency multiplication standard! We did a Kahoot.it quiz to review expectation and procedures! --- The kids LOVED this and are BEGGING me to do it again! I can't wait to find something else to use it for---
We have also started into our new math series that will help us prepare for the new state test TNReady. We are currently working on multiplying and dividing with powers of 10! Here is my first Anchor Chart for the year! --- Actually it's my first anchor chart ever!!---
I hope to make some new 5th grade products for my teachers pay teachers store once I have a little free time!!

Whats the News?
Hey Guys! I have been MIA for a couple months and have FINALLY sat down to write a blog post! One of the biggest reasons I have been absent is because I found out I was pregnant! We are extremely excited for this new chapter in our lives! I did however spend the first trimester snoozing on the couch as soon as I got home from school everyday because I was SO tired! However, I am officially in my second trimester and it's summer break so I am starting to feel much more energized!
I have recently posted a new product on Teacherspayteachers.com that I hope you will check out!

The students play the game just like they would regular war with a deck of cards, except they are wanting the biggest fraction! Check it out Here!

Decimal War
If you ever played war with a deck of cards then you know the game. This is the same game concept except you are trying to find the biggest decimal! The game has places to the tenths, hundredths, & thousandths. Would be very easy to turn into a folder game.

Comparing Numbers War (100-1,000)
Again the same war concept except you are trying to find the biggest whole number. Covers numbers 100-1,000.
Check it out here!

OR if you are have younger students and 100- 1,000 is too hard try the 1-50 Game here!

And the featured Free Product of the day comes from Brooke Beverly. She has made a super cute graph book for students to work on with candy!

Relating Fractions & Decimals Game
I made these cute matching game cards to help reinforce the relationship between fractions and decimals. We will be having a complete lesson on this in a few days and I can't wait for my students to be able to use these! After the lesson I will let each group play for about 5- 10 minutes before beginning their daily assignment. After we do it as a class I am going to put it in the math sponge activities basket for finished students to be able to pull back out and play with a partner during extra time. You can find it here.
Extra Info: My sponge activity basket has math games for students to play when they complete their math assignement. What better way to get kids interested in math then to turn things into a game?
